Could this be IBS?

Brand new to the IBS board. Sorry for TMI but have a feeling that is the nature of this board. My husband has never had normal elimination. He has several bowel movements a day and usually soft/diarrhea. For almost six weeks he is has non-top diarrhea about 8-10x a day. He has a colonoscopy scheduled for next week (earliest appt - love NYC doctors!). Needless to say I'm getting worried. If anyone has anything to offer it is much appreciated. He has never had blood in his stool. Thanks everyone.

I'm on the 'fibromyalgia' board! We both feel like we are old people this week. No on antibiotics. I don't know about C diff (not sure what that is). Thanks for responding.

No problem! Like pb4 said C.diff is a bacteria that starts to take over the intestines and causes watery diarrhea...it usually starts after taking antibiotics but I've read of people who've gotten it randomly without being on antibiotics recently. You should definitely ask for him to be tested for that..... bc its a possibility. Also, get ova & parasite testing. Maybe it's something he caught somewhere.
