Mysterious ongoing illness? (over one year??)

Sooo my boyfriend has been sick for a year. He has stomach pains in random areas of his stomach and when he s not feeling pain hes nauseous and says he has a "weird feeling" in his stomach. It has prevented him from leaving the house and doing the things he loves. Sometimes his condition is worse than other times. When he first got sick, the first few months, he would sometimes start shaking uncontrolably. He has been to so many different doctors and has done so many tests such as blood work, scans, and they even looked into his stomach with a tube. The doctors told him all his organs are functioning normally. They prescribe him different medication that doesnt really work. He s really become miserable and unmotivated and it is affecting our relationship, especially since we can barely see each other now and he doesnt want me over because he tries to sleep often to not feel the pain. It gets to the point where sometimes if he sees me he gets butterflies in his stomach and it causes discomfort. Anyone know what the heck this is or could be? He eats healthy. He used to eat alot of fast food and protein shakes but he was fit and healthy. And he hasn't eaten any of that stuff for a long time. The doctors don't know what this illness is. He is 20 years old.

He could have a colon problem. I have diverticulosis which gets much worse when you eat a lot of fiber. I had the same symptoms until I ended up in the emergency room with a leak in my colon. I had resection surgery 6 weeks ago, where the bad section of the colon was removed and I am feeling much better.

Thank you for sharing...I will suggest this to him and keep it in mind, however I looked up the symptoms and not all of them seem to match up with what he has
