Infrequent Hemorrhoids + Vomiting + Involuntary Defecation ... Is this still IBS

Im writing this for my boyfriend, since he doesnt seem to want to get help ASAP.
I think he has some sort of IBS, but maybe its extremely mild. He's only 23. He has upset stomachs after eating ALOT of things, and every now and then goes through bouts of constipation i guess, because he ends up whining over hemorrhoid pain. One time he got sick, from what we thought was food poisoning, and wasnt able to control his bowels. This happened one more time again when was not sick. He vomits, in general, I would say more than the average person (alcohol-binge drinking not included), considering I can't even remember the last time I threw up, whereas he gets these moments where he has diarrhea, then vomits, and sleeps it off.

I just dont know what it could even be, since all these weird, mixed up symptoms seem to be contradictory.. constipation.. yet diarrhea.. makes no sense.

Help please?

Well it's too bad he doesn't want to get himself help and get properly checked out with all the suffering he's going through...he should see his family doctor and get a referral to a gastroenterologist (GI) and probably get a colonoscopy to see if there's any inflammation as it could be inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) which is very different but similar symptoms to IBS. There's really no way around seeing a specialist unless he's willing to suffer for possibly the rest of his life with what could be either IBS or IBD.

I hope you can convince him somehow to go, maybe get his family involved in the conversation or something cuz it very well could be something serious.

Thank you. I am making him see a doctor ASAP, I just wanted to get a direction as to what he could have, in hopes of scaring him a little to get up and see the doctor as quickly as possible. I think he thinks its just a sensitive tummy, but I doubt it.

Awesome, whatever it takes to get him to see a doctor cuz what he's going through isn't even close to normal....good luck to you both, hope it's nothing serious but it doesn't sound very good with the extreme symptoms you described him having....I have both crohn's disease and IBS and I never vomit from either of them and I've been pretty sick over the last 24 years straight.
