Hello All,
Just had a colonoscopy done yesterday, which came back clean. The GI Doc, who is around my age (early 30s), even said that he wishes he had my colon.
So great news. Doc said that the discomforts and stool issues I've been experiencing for past year fall under the IBS umbrella, rather than a more serious disease.
Anyway, in the recovery room, I was too sleepy to remember to ask him about a purple-ish thin coating my stool sometimes has. It is not frequent, but sometimes, the surface has dark substance on it. It doesn't cover all of it nor is it thick, but is rather irregularly dispersed.
When I did the occult blood test, I sampled this stuff and it came back negative, so it isn't blood.
What else could it be? Could it just be prooly processed food or some type of mucous?
