Are you constipated? I ask because I have had severe upper abdominal pain (upper left and upper right) that is most likely due to chronic, severe constipation. I had an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound this summer, an abdominal X-Ray this summer, and an abdominal CT last summer. Everything was normal, except there was a lot of stool and air in my colon in the CT last summer and X-Ray this summer. My GI doctor diagnosed me with IBS-C. I'm still having the pain, but I do think it's from being chronically constipated. If you're not constipated, are you lactose intolerant or is it possible you have Celiac disease? It doesn't sound like you have an ulcer, since you had the Upper GI study done. Your pancreas was fine, I assume? (I'm thinking of referred pain). It is possible that it's pain from IBS. Pain from IBS can be felt all over the abdomen and has been described as sharp, dull, achy, and pressure-like. Did your GI doctor have any ideas? I'm sorry you're going through this; I do understand how frustrating it is.
