I too am similar with my IBS-C with frequency (meaning although my bm's are formed to varying degrees and sometimes constipated looking stools, they are very difficult to pass at times but I pass them frequently per day) I also have crohn's but it's in remission from Humira. My mornings are also my most active time of day still...but it will often pop again a few times in the afternoon and even late evening or before bed.
What kind of IBS do you have? Have you tried fiber supplements or increasing fiberous foods into your diet daily? If you have IBS-D or C, fiber supplements can be very helpful (sadly I can't seem to get myself down to less than my average 5 trips a day(it's often more in a day) but I have lactose intolerance, IBS and crohn's to deal with so it's not too surprising that I still can't get my guts to behave normally as they did before I encountered all these crap issues I became plagued with.
