I was diagnosed with IBS about 5 years ago after going through a myriad of test because I had constant nausea and left sided pain.. I lost 30 pounds-started at 118 and just felt awful. They removed my gallbladder which had low function but I never got better and lost lots of weight. Finally I got better And the nausea and disagrees went away and I gained the weight back.. however, every few months , I start with digestive issues.. for awhile I had terrible chest pains and even went through an angiogram on my heart but all was well.. on and off I have really uncomfortable pain in my lower back and abdomen.. what is constant is the normal stools, then diarrhea but only 2 or 3 times a day. I do have urgency when I have to use the bathroom and the pain doesn't go away after I use the bathroom. I had a colonoscopy four years ago and all was normal but my doctor is going to do another one next week. I haven't had an endoscopy since 2011 when this all began. However, I have had digestive issues since my 20s and even had ulcers in my colon when I was in graduate school. Does this sound like IBS? Does anyone else have the back and lower abdominal pains? Urgency?
I just get very scared that it is something really bad. I just had an abdominal ultrasound and an MRI of the abdomen 6 months ago.
My gastro doctor says he thinks I have IBS but not all symptoms fit the criteria.
