Hi everyone,
I'm new to the IBS board - I usually stay on the lupus one, however I have recently been diagnosed with an "unspecified IBS-like disorder" (according to my GI doctor) after almost a decade of problems. I was also recently diagnosed with gastritis and esophagitis from long term aspirin use for another medical condition.
I had some blood work done by my rheumatologist, as I am waiting to follow up with my GI doctor and my albumin levels were EXTEMELY low. Normally with lupus, they worry about kidneys and liver. But both of those are fine. The doctor says I am spilling protein somewhere in my body and he suspects it is my stomach.
Like I said, I'm still waiting to see my GI doctor again, but have any of you all had problems like this? Low albumin/protein?? It's too low to be a diet issue. If so, how were you treated/what steps did you take to heal?
Thank you!
