Reviewing the online symptoms of IBS-C and reading the various threads on this site I am beginning to wonder, because I don't have most of the symptoms that people discuss, such as no stomach problems, thankfully.
I do have pain the genital area from being backed up.
For the past week or so I have changed my diet to what is recommended for IBS, but don't see any change.
Thank you for your responses.

Island, people can have constipation issues without having IBS. The main thing is to stay away from laxatives, not good to use them long term. Instead consider using a stool softner, Colace, Miralax or something along those lines. Changing a diet all at once can often cause a few issues. You may want to keep a food diary & see what foods aggravate things.
Take care.
