Hello everyone.
I wanted to reach out to help me process through this.
I think have had SIBO since last August. I say think cuz i have not been medicallly diagnosed but through all my research my symptoms seem very similar to SIBO or IBS.
Was trying out water kefir last summer and was doing ok I guess, no real fealing of benefit. Went out of town for a week and left the kefir grains fermenting in fridge. Came back left it there for a while and decided meh? It should be ok. Drank it and now looking back it may be what caused my SIBO symptoms.
I started having severe bloating, gas and a lot of mucus with no stool, or just bits. Bowel movement were aprox every 5-7 days. Just mucus and gas the rest of the time. I had to make sure to sit down in the bathroom if i needed to pass gas cause it was always with a lot of mucus. This is gross but I assume were all used to this terminology now. I also had to make sure to try to eliminate the gas as much as i could or i would be painfully bloated where it hurt just to walk.
Fast forward to about
2 months ago where i started eating fiber bars to help eliminate. Those helped speed up the bm frequency a "bit" but still lots of gas and mucus. Then recently was researching a bit more about
the cinnamon that i had purchased a while back. Its ceylon cinnamon that is supposidly good to reduce sugar levels, cholestorol levels etc. NOT cassia cinnamon that we purchase normally at the store. These are type of cinnamon not brands. Anyway, I found a site that said one of the side effects of cinnamon is that is can kill off or reduce you gut flora. So here's the aha moment.
SOOOO, i emptied aprox 9 geletin capsules and refilled them with the ceylon cinammon and started taking them after dinner with a small glass of fat free milk. All to calm down the acids in my stomach to help the capsule maybe get further into my bowels. Well after about
6 or 7 days, my symptoms listed above all but disappeared. Finished the nine capsules and seems like im back to normal bowels and passing gas normally.
I am so excited about
this I had to share and also reach out about
the symptoms if they are in line with SIBO/IBS.
Like a mentioned I have not been formally diagnosed but have done alot of reading on Sibo/IBS and research on cinnamon before trying my "test". I just want to discuss this with other that are having these symptoms.
Thanks

Wow! Lucky you, I hope it is gone for good. Unfortunate that you didn't have a SIBO test...
It could have helped so much to know this. But thank you for the information anyway.
