Mucous in stool

Anyone with IBS have mucous in stool ? I read mucous doesn’t always mean IBD ive read that plenty of patients with IBS experience mucous in stool I don’t have any blood in stool but I occasionally have some mucous on my solid bm also occasionally on my diarrhea sorry for TMI. I’ve done a cat scan an blood work stool checked for blood all came back normal stomach doctor doesn’t want to give me a colonoscopy because my labs came back normal as well as my Images he says it’s ibs an stress related which I do stress about I think about my stomach 24-7 anyone else experience this too ? Also has anyone here got a IBS diagnosis without a colonoscopy an fear that it’s IBD ?

I often have mucous in my (non) stool - it is worrying....had a colonscopy done a while ago - came back normal - so diagnosed with IBS...

As IBS is stress related have you ever considered seeing a psychologist for cognitive behavior therapy? There is scientific evidence that CBT works just as well as FODMAPS and other meds in reducing IBS.

Stress & anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms with people. The gut & stress are very much connected too. If a person is anxious about something, getting hit with diarrhea can happen. Keep in mind
your insurance is another issue, they do not pay for expensive testing without symptoms to warrant authorizing the testing. Diarrhea & mucous are not enough to get one approved. Look online for diets that are related to diarrhea issues.

Given the testing so far has been normal, consider getting some help with your anxiety.
