Post colonoscopy bowel issues

I had a colonoscopy 3 weeks ago and ever since I've been having bowel issues which I didn't have before the colonoscopy. Sometimes with bowel movements I have cramping along with it. It does seem like I'm having IBS. I did have IBS frequently when I was younger and maybe the last 10 years or so the flareups was less frequently. I'm in my 60's.

The reason for the colonoscopy it was time to have it done. The last one was in 2014. Today I found out why I was having bowel issues since the procedure. I went to the emergency room with vomiting and terrible pains in the lower abdomen. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis and was prescribed antibiotics. Evidently I think the colonoscopy triggered the diverticulosis to flare up. I have a follow up appointment with my GI and see if he thinks the colon procedure possibly caused the diverticulitis. I never had problems before with the diverticulosis.
