Hi, new to the forum. I've been having some symptoms lately that may be IBS and was looking for some feedback. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and a colonoscopy end of the month. First flare was in December after eating a steak taco. Within 5-10 min after eating I got a strange ache near my belly button that lasted for about 4 days. Went away then came back again a few weeks later after eating a small amount of chili. Went to the doctor. Blood work normal. My stomach area not tender on palpating. Pain went away and came back again in Feb after eating salmon. Same ache around belly button and then moved lower and to the right. Lasted only a day. Went to doctor again. Stomach still not tender on palpation. No nausea, no vomiting, no bloody stool. Went away and no pain for over a week and came back again after eating a soft taco. I am now in my 4th day of stomach pain. One day its my belly button, the next its lower to the right, goes back and forth. During a flare I eat only soft bland foods, terrified its going to flare worse. I've had an average of 500 calories a day this week scared to eat but hungry. When the pain goes away I continue to be careful eating soft foods and work my way back up to normal eating and then it seems to flare again.
Does this sound like IBS? A heating pad and lidocaine patch seemed to help. Im on 4th day and pain is mild tonite, almost gone. Ultrasound tomorrow and Im just worried.
