I had nissen/fundoplication surgery about 20 years ago at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.
I have had continuous stomach issues such as a burning sensation and nausea since. Recently I was diagnosed with Lyme, RMSF and severe mold sensitivity that I have Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. During this time my stomach has been killing me with severe burning pain. Many endoscopies and CT shows everything normal even the nissen surgery site. A small peptic ulcer was shown and is currently being treated with OTC prilosec as prescribed by my dr.
It seems to be worse at breakfast and all day up to about 6:00 p.m. My stomach seems to be better at night?
The pain seems to originate from my upper stomach area near the nissen site and can be lessened by placing a heating pad on it while holding a pillow for pressure but this is only temporary.
I have remedied the mold problem and have taken a regime of antibiotics for the Lyme and RMSF which was about 3 years ago. I cannot tolerate vegetables or fruit. Vegetables make me sick at my stomach that I can't force it down.
Fruit breaks my tongue out into a rash and hurts my stomach.
I am severely lactose intolerant and am allergic to eggs.
I have to eat every 2-4 hours to keep something on my stomach. After 3 or 4 hours I feel faint, sweats and weakness along with burning stomach pain. However my blood sugar is usually about 90 or a little higher, not enough for clinical low blood sugar! An hour after eating a good meal my stomach feels like it is empty, it actually hurts, bad! I try not to snack between meals because most snacks that I can tolerate are unhealthy and it really doesn't ease the pain as much as a decent meal with some protein. I had been diagnosed with T.II diabetes but in the last 18 months my A1C has been at or around 5.0.
I cannot vomit. I try to control my gas with simethicone and rolaids with simethicone which help some but is still a problem. I get strangled easily even drinking water but also while eating.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the spiciness of the food i eat causing pain. I can eat tacos and burritos as long as it is without lettuce, onions and cheese and w/o hot sauce. However I have trouble eating and swallowing oatmeal in the morning.
CBD oil also helps by first holding it under my tongue for several minutes after meals.
The only thing that seem to help my stomach is cannabis with THC. I have been smoking it and that helps but it doesn't get the THC in my stomach. Cannabis edibles w/THC is the only thing that gives me genuine relief but it is illegal in my state.
I have been going to a functional medical doctor at northern Va.
I have also been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Hypothyroidism, Testicular dysfunction,Depression, Anxiety, Hypertension with a pacemaker.
Post-Lyme has played havoc with my central nervous system and is causing me to be irritable, angry and impatient.
I have had my water and indoor air quality tested and my new apartment tested for molds using ERMI index and mold endotoxins. Everything is NEGATIVE.
I have tried room air purifiers with HEPA filters, UV Light and Ionizer on HVAC plenum outlet,
A Photo Catalytic Oxidizer has been running for 5 months that is designed to eliminate molds, microbes, germs and Volatile Organic Compounds.
I even purchased and ran a RIFE Pro-Gen light plasma which generates healing frequencies to treat a variety of illnesses for over 900 hours. Nothing.
I hired an Indoor Air Quality firm to review the many test reports on mold, endotoxins, water and air quality, etc. who said that they could not find anything of an environmental nature in what he had seen.
