Hello Everyone

I just joined this forum and I’m hoping to get help I have been eventually diagnosed with marotation.

When & how were you diagnosed? What is your drs treatment plan? I read about this on John Hopkins Hospital website, which is one of the leading hospitals here in the US.

This is a serious condition.

Thanks for reply I’m 23 years old female and I got a serious of scans and tests for abdominal pain and they said I was borderline celiac and couldn’t find anything else wrong so I completely changed my diet and after 4 years off abdominal pain the medical professionals were actually telling me that I had anorexia they finally told me that it was malroation and said that it was a junior consultant looked at the scans and missed it.
The senior consultant said that I would have big trouble getting any surgeon only in the US to do anything about it.

I suggest you go to the John Hopkins.org website & read abut malrotation of the intestine. I looked at other well known medical hospitals here in the states & they all state this is a condition that happens at birth.

I don't know what country you reside in, but it seems like things are being overlooked. Can you get in with a gastroenterologist for another opinion? This is the only thing I can suggest. This should not be ignored by any dr if this is the actual diagnosis.

I’m live in Donegal Ireland and they came up with this diagnosis very slowly as they thought i was anorexic after every test and scan and some junior consultant did not pick it up until the senior consultant viewed the scan he also said that I would have trouble getting any surgeon that would ever consider the procedure

Hello Again

I still need more support and information on this condition;
What would be the chances of getting a successful operation to correct this Malrotation.
The health service in Ireland is completely shattered and I don’t know if they have given me the correct diagnosis,

Please reply with any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
