hey all i am new to this as  i have been having pains in the lower right stomach been bound up 4 days no feeling i had to go #2 but been in severe pain then i had a touch of the runs.. mention this to my dr after he prescribed b.c for mettleschertz been on them a month has not helped..so he sent me to a well bum specialist..

 

he thinks either endometriris or ibs so now on all bran with 26 g of fibre and no caffiene.. well the pain is pretty much gone and i hope that i have found the cause.. i go for a colonoscopy soon and well i am nervous cause since the pain is gone i now notice blood.. never noticed blood before anyone have any ideas as to why?? and should i mention it the day of cause it is new or is it a moot point cause they gonna be looking anyway?

 

grr this is frustrating? took me a yr to get this far into figuring what the pain is.. i didnt want to be a pain by going to the dr and complain of pain all the time..

but was sick of going to the emerge crap they just dope ya only recently they did a cat scan cause my dr sent me with a note cause wasent sure if it was appendix or not! it wasent..

I am new to this too.  I have had loose stolls/diarrhea for 2 straight months without 1 normal BM.  It is VERY frustrating.  I have been to the GI specialist and I had to have a colonoscopy.  Being only 26, I'm thinking that I'm too young for these kind of problems and it's becoming depressing. 

Don't worryu about the colonoscopy.  You won't remember a thing!  I had mine done at 11am and I didn't remember anything until 8pm that night!  (They had to give me exter "put out" medicing through my IV because I was really nervous.)  Make sure you take 1 or 2 people with you so youtr Dr. can talk to them and so they know yuor results.  I need 2 people to dress me after I was finished because I was like a bag of rocks. 

I hope you feel better some and keep us posted.

hey shelly thxs for posting i am 24  i thought that 2 but there is a history of problems in my family my mom has diverticulitis sp? and most of the females on moms side including mom has no gallbladder. so far so good i dont have probs with it but cant rule out just may be longer..

i have been mostly pain free since the high fibre diet 6 days woohoo but am worried that itll come back

theres just a little pain but tolerable considering the pain i was getting before was worse then labour.. had to leave work cause of it tried to stay but they dont want you there cramped over and not able to work i just bad that i had 2 leave.. they were very understanding..

the colonoscopy i am nervous of not the needle part but actually the procedure it just seems embarassing to me.. i am very modest had a hard time getting my firt physical lol

Lovable, they put you out before they start doing anything and you wake up after it's all over and done with, so you shouldn't feel embarrassed; you stay clothed the whole time you're awake. Unlike the GYN, lol. Mine laughs at me when she checks my heartbeat because it's always racing. Never mind nothing she does hurts; I'm just very embarrassed by it. Definitely less embarrassement with the scope because you never know it's happening.

I got over-drugged for my colonoscopy too. The nurses couldn't get me to wake up and so they brought my mother back to wake me. Then I kept falling back asleep, so she had to dress me, lol. I woke up occasionally while they were trying to get me out of the hospital, and I walked into a restaurant for breakfast, but I am quite sure I slept through eating! When I got home I slept all day (I was back home by 10 o'clock--mine was very early in the morning) and didn't wake up until about 8 or 9 that evening. So I can honestly say I don't remember a thing about the procedure... or much else during the rest of that day, lol. But, from what I have heard on the board, it's not common for people to be that sleepy afterwards. One lady said she could have driven herself home she was so alert afterwards. I guess it depends on what they give you, how much they give you and how you react to it. Me, I'm a good sleeper anyways, so I must have really reacted to it!

I'm 26 too. My gall bladder started acting up when I was 18 and I had it out when I was 23, so no, you're never too young for this stuff. I also have a family history of bad gall bladders.
