Are some of the meds for IBS and UC sulfa based?

Hi Scrappy,
It is my understanding that many antibiotics are sulfa based. Some IBS symptoms (bacterial overgrowth or H.Pylori) are treated with antibiotics but I doubt UC is treated with antibiotics. Here are just a few common sulfa based antibiotics: Penicillin, Amoxicillin, Tetracycline, Doxycycline, Zithromax & Ciprofloxacin.

Thank you for the info,7Lil. I am just getting over a really bad attack of diverticulitis and a kidney infection (passed that dang stone,finally).
