Why were you told to not use it? I don't know of anything else.

You may not have a hemmroid so much as you've just worn your anus out with all that sitting on the toliet and making it work. You can find epsom salts in the pharmacy; add those to a warm bath and soak to help relieve the pain of straining. I wouldn't know why you couldn't use a hemmroid cream or something like that, unless you have some sort of anal fissure or other tear or open wound on your anus or lower colon.

A hot soak every day (maybe even twice a day), especially in epsom salts hopefully will help. Are you still have D problems? Have you looked into calcium supplements? I often get a very store bottom from having too much bile acid down there, burning everything. The calcium can help soothe the irritation caused by the acid. Even people with good gall bladders sometimes poop too much bile and other stomach acids because their intestines are running food through so fast they don't have a chance to absorb it properly. The calcium helps absorb excess water too, which can help ease your D.

Oh, is that your problem (lack of gall bladder)? Go to a GI and get some Welchol. That's the main thing I take for my excess bile (also caused by no gall bladder). It absorbs the bile better than the calcium pills (although some people, like Inape, can get by on just the calcium, I think 6 weeks of D means you need something stronger). Until you can get the prescription, get some Caltrate 600 w/ vitamin D because that should at least help. I use it in conjunction with my Welchol so that I don't have to take so much Welchol. I got started on the calcium after a super-bad reaction to sugar alcohols a couple of years ago and my guts hurt bad and I had diarrhea all the time that even the Welchol wasn't taking care of. In combination with the Welchol, though, the calcium got rid of the pain and balanced me back out. If I start to get constipated, then I drop the calcium pill, but lately I've been needing it. I think it really does help the guts after putting too much bile through it.
