Hello everyone,
I feel for all of you. I would like to introduce myself, I am a single Mom to a 12 year old boy. Beginning in Nov. /06 my son began having some abdominal pain without D or anything else of significance other than high fever. He had this for 8 days and then received antibiotics for pneumonia of all things. He had no symptoms of that, no wheezing or coughing. The abdominal pain was dismissed as gas or flu.
He kept having the pains and they have gotten progressively worse. He started having 15-30 attacks of pain, and they would come in 5-15 minute intervals. This went on through all of December with about 6 trips to the ER. He was sent home each time with diagnoses such as gas, flu, cramping due to something he ate, constipation. None of these are the answer. I have begged and pleaded with our (now former) doctor to send him to a specialist, he thought it was kidney stones. It wasn't.
From ER visits in January he has been on buscopan, and now Dicetel, which have slowed the attacks but not stopped them. I have now switched to another doctor and they have discovered through ultrasound that he has an enlarged gall bladder and a cyst on one kidney.
Does anyone know if this can cause such horrible pains? His pain attacks have increased to 30-45 mins and it is excruciating. He has them every single day up to 7 times. By the time we can get in to the doctor his attacks subside and the doc doesn't get to see the cringing and screaming. We are going to see a gastro doc , have an appt this week to find out when we see him. We can't take it anymore, my son is exhausted and he gets so dizzy and pale after each attack. If anyone has these kinds of symptoms please help.
