I am totally lost for a year now

Here is my case

I have had a scope down and up , ultrasound,cat scan and bloodwork and dry and live blood analaysis. My gastroenterologist cannot find anything wrong with me and I am losing weight (maybe from worry)10 lbs. I did not know where to post my symptoms but here goes.

First the stuff I have taken for this.

All kinds of supplements , colostrum vege greens,ibs meds,Bio-K,light colon cleanse and the list goes on. Candida cleanse also

I get a hot itching face,sick to my stomach, burning in my kidneys,spasms in my belly,swollen spleen,naucious dizzy, DIARHEA, THIN STOOLS, And alot of constipation, constant jock itch alot of gas that I cannot release from my anus most of the time. The live cell DR. Paddon said my colon is very very inflamed also. He said possible intestinal cancer but cannot confirm this? That guy cost me about $2000 to take his supplements and could not afford to see him any longer.

I feel completely lost some days I am so tired I pass out like a light. I have pain in the small intestine area and also my left side mostly just under my ribs. Cna anyone point me in a direction and help me. I am so lost and have lost faith in doctors. What can it be?? Thank you

I do have stress in my life but stress I cannot see can make a person feel like they are going to throw up when I feel happy. I get sick to my stomach feeling after meals but not right away. Defication often happens later on in the evening. If I go at all. I used to go everyday now I can go 3 days with out pooping. HELP ME PLEASE

No I did not have a gallbladder test or pancreas, spleen, is this something they would need to perform specifically. I tried off sugar and do noteat sugar at all now. I think i will try no dairy products next. As I have not been taking milk anymore other then cereal. I really appreciate your help. Thank you

Canyon is right that a lot of "treatments" can actually make IBS worse. Colon cleanses, whether holistic or as preps for colonoscopies, can flush too much of your bacteria out of your intestines and make your symptoms even worse, because now there's nothing in there helping you digest and process your food. Her suggestion of probiotics is a good one, and you should get on them immediately. They may give you a bit of gas at first, but that's the only known side affect, so it's a worthy tradeoff at a chance to balance your guts back out. With any luck, they'll fix you completely, but if not, they may very well make your symptoms less manageable.

So a holistic-type doctor said you had inflamamtion in your colon, yet this didn't show up on your colonscopy? That makes him sound like a snake-oil fraud. Of course, colon cleansing can irritate your intestines, so it is always possible that after a couple of those, you could have very well developed non-specific inflammation. However, that will go away on its own when you stop flushing your colon out. Deep inflammation is a sign of something more serious than IBS--usually an IBD. However, if a proper GI doctor didn't see inflammation on your colonscopy, then you can be fairly confident that you don't have an IBD.

As Canyon mentioned, food allergies or intolerences can cause a lot of GI difficulties. I would append her recommendation to suspend milk products to make sure that you avoid all foods which contain Caesin, which is a milk protein that people who are allergic to milk cannot tolerate. This is the difference between being just lactose intolerant and being allergic to milk. You will find that caesin is in a lot of processed foods, so you have to look at the ingredients carefully.

Another elimination diet you might try (don't do two at once, or you'll never know what you're actually allergic to) is gluten. This is found mainly in wheat and corn products. Again, it pops up in processed food products where you least expect it, so keep an eye out on those labels.

Finally, you can always try an organic diet; some people are allergic to preservatives and/or food dyes. You should especially consider this if someone else in your family is allergic to these things.

Try the probiotics first, since they are easy to do and give them three weeks to see if you improve. If you don't, or you don't get completely better, then move on to the elimination diets and see if that might not be your problem.

Based on the symptoms you list, you don't sound like you have a gall bladder problem, so you might want to save yourself the testing on that one, unless your symptoms change. But, the burning and rashes you are getting would seem to either point to an allergy (and since your bowels are upset, most likely a food allergy), or to a severe bacteria imbalance, such as yeast overgrowth. You can take a breathalyzer test to test for bacteria imbalances. If you can get your GI to give you one of these, it may tell you right off the bat if that's your problem, and then it can be treated with a combination of antibiotics and probiotics.

If everything else you try fails, then see if you can strong arm your GI into putting you on a course of strong antibiotics anyways, just to see if that helps. More and more IBSers are being treated this way and are getting better, even though doctors can't figure out what it is in our guts that's causing us to have problems, and why antitibiotics kill it and we get better.

I knew someone had posted an anacronym to help remember what you could not eat when you're off gluten, but I coudn't remember what it was!

One thing about the tests for Celiac's: they're not 100% accurate. The blood test is so unreliable that a lot of doctors don't bother doing it. The other test that's more reliable, but still not definitive, is a biopsy of the stomach lining (done with an endoscopy). The odd thing is, you may wind up not having Celiac's Disease, but are still unable to tolerate gluten. A Celiac's test looks for a very certain biological reaction that occurs when you consume gluten (like Jen said, it's like an autoimmune response), but it doesn't look at the other sorts of reactions you might have. So some people go through the Celiac's testing, only to be told that they don't have it, but find they still can't tolerate gluten. That's why I usually just tell people to cut it out and see what happens. For most people, it doesn't matter if they are actually, officially diagnosed with something; all that matters is that they get better. But some people feel better with a firm diagnosis, and some people may feel that they would like to have a firm diagnosis on their charts (not a bad idea if you have problems finding a doctor who treats your complaints and symptoms seriously). Personally, I cannot tolerate caffeine (except in incidental amounts), but I'm not allergic to it. That's kind of the difference between being intolerant to gluten, but not allergic to it (having Celiac's Disease). A lot of us on here can't tolerate certain things (alcohol, raw veggies, apple juice), but we're not allergic to any of it. Some people just can't digest gluten, even though they don't have an allergy to it.
