Hi all,

   I'm curious........If I'm to take 2 Dulcolax at 3p.m. and then at 5p.m. start drinking the miralax every 10-15 minutes for about an hour and a half.  about when should I expect the diarrhea to stop?  Will I have problems all night?  Do you ever have problems making it to the hospital in the morning, without feeling like you gotta go again?

I sure hope its over in time to go to sleep.

    Is going without eating for so long really hard, or do you sort of lose your appetite?

I haven't done the prep with the Miralax however when I did the prep with the pills, I started taking them at 2pm and every fifteen minutes after that for about 1 hour and a half (I think). And then I took the Dulcolax at 7pm. I was cleaned out around 10pm. Once there is nothing else in there, you won't be able to go anymore anyway. Had no problems in the morning. I did have to go after I ate after the scope because the laxative was still effective so make sure when you finally eat that you are at a place where you can use the bathroom comfortably. I didn't have any cramping just extreme urgency through the whole thing. Remember eat very light the day before and try to avoid any fattening foods or difficult/long digesting foods.

What did you take with the pills instead of the Miralax. I didn't realize Miralax was used for colonscopy. I would like someone to go to Canada and buy me some of that good stuff before my next one. LOL

I had the Visicol pills for my prep. Is Miralax only available in the US and Canada? Wow, and it used to be prescription only but now they sell it OTC. I'm sure now that it is OTC you can buy it over the net.

Unfortunately, my clean-out is tomorrow, and today is Mother's day and family is cooking me a big meal! I might regret this, but I'm going to eat it all!
I noticed on my instructions that it had originally called for a couple Zelnorm, but that was crossed out Dulcolax was written in, probably because Zelnorm was taken off the market, right?
I think they use what people with constipation take, but in much larger doses?
That's a good warning about eating afterwards. I know DH wanted to go out to eat afterwards, and I might want to too........but I was so afraid that laxative would still be around.......so we'll go home.
My GI tract has been going nuts lately......mostly just incredibly weird feelings in my epigastric/chest area..........like constant acivity. It makes me feel like I have to burp all the time, and its just very uncomfortable, so I hope this clean-out doesn't make it worse.
Were you dying of thirst in the morning? Can I sneak one little sip of water during the night?
DH said he was totally out during his procedure. Were you out too? I guess I thought I would be sort of awake.
Do you think people with IBS-D have more problems with this clean out? The day after it was over for you, did you have any residual problems? Thanks!
