Sarita, of course I thought of you when I read this article about medical students examining their first "patient".  You've been a patient for so long, I expect you to be one of the perfectly confident doctors the very first time!

Oh man, this cracks me up - you definitely learn a lot after being a patient about what's important.  Don't worry, I won't be going around saying, "I forget which comes first, the large or small bowel...hold on, let me check!" anytime soon. 

Any volunteers to be my standardized patients?  LOL!

You're ahead of me; for some reason I always get the small and large bowel mixed up. I think because my poop is shaped (and sometimes curved) as if it just came out of the small bowel section, lol.

Come to think of it, anybody needs a life-size model with fake organs in it so you can SEE how big an organ is. There's something about looking at them in a textbook that makes you think they're much larger than they are. Of course, they also seem very large when they're hurting or are otherwise messed up. I can remember being so surprised when my mother told me that a uterus was only about the size of your first. The way I bled, I could have sworn that it was the size of a gallon jug. LOL.
