Could I have IBS?

I am seeing several docs for stomach+abd pain and nausea. Basically here's what's happening to me-

Slight persistent nausea about an hour after meals. Sometimes later followed by abdominal pain- like gas pain. Occasionally, but not often it is accompanied by feeling of food or acid in my throat. I have no problems with my stools and never any vomiting.
My problem is aggravated by certain foods including pork, ham, beef, raw versions of some fruits and veggies. Even a full glass of water all at once can make my stomach hurt. (really boggled by that one!)
I have had a gall bladder HIDA scan and gall bladder ultrasound, pregnancy test, H pylori antibody test, and some routine blood work. All were negative for problems.
I am able to eat the following with little problem:
rice in chicken broth, cooked spinach, poached egg, cooked apple, white meat turkey, raspberry turnovers, salted pretzels, milk

Based on any of that does it sound like I have IBS?

Yes, you could have IBS. You more likely have some sort of acid reflux problem or ulcers. You could also have a bad gall bladder. Your symptoms are similar to what mine were; and it took them 3 HIDA scans before they finally got a conclusive result. When they took my gall bladder out, almost all of the symptoms--most especially the pain--went away immediately. So you know that's what had to have been my problem all along.

Some other people get nauseated when they drink water. I don't know if the last person who posted about that problem had a diagnosis or not. But when my gall bladder was really "mad" it seemed like everything make it upset but for a couple of safe foods. I went nearly three weeks once eating nothing but one bowl of Corn Pops and one mug of instant chicken soup a day; I couldn't tolerate anything else.

I can't find any old posts that mention people having issues with drinking water; I'm still not sure how to correlate that. My doctor has just decided I have acid reflux. I do not agree mainly because antacids seem to actually make my problem worse and the acid blocker I took for a week had no effect. I really have to call him back again to discuss it. It also seems to not fit because I have had abdominal pain which does not seem to be a symptom of reflux. At this point I'm not convinced my doc has the answer, but we'll see what he prescribes and if it helps me.

Have you seen a gastroenterologist?  If you are having persistant pain and nausea, it's probably a good idea to get a scope of your upper GI tract (also known as an "EGD").  Did it come on suddenly, or did you notice it gradually?

Interesting. When my gall bladder was bad, I too was put on antiacids which did nothing.

Just as an update- maybe someone else will find this post helpful for them. I have finally been diagnosed. I have gastroparesis. Translation: my stomach takes a really long time to empty and it's worst when I eat fibers and fats. I am on some medicine that will either jump-start my stomach into working on its own, or I will need to keep taking it indefinitely. Hopefully this is the last piece to what's wrong with me and now the docs can fix it. Thanks for sharing your ideas with me.

I wish I would have seen this board sooner.  I was going to say,that sounds like gastroparesis.  I have it.  I was on Reglan, domperidone (not approved by the FDA) and erythromycin.  Let me tell you, Reglan is horrible!!! The side effects are not worth it.  Domperidone works wonders for many many people, but I got terrible chest pains where I ended up in the ER.  All I can recommend is really monitor your diet and exercise...it gets things moving.  Join the gastroparesis foundation (yahoo), there is a wealth of info and many helpful people.
