I just read in "Science Daily" that IBS may be related to overgrowth of bacteria. It's an interesting article. I always wondered if this was true for me. Good reading all. & have a gr8 day.

Which is why taking a good probiotic and getting enough fibre (as fibre helps sweep the bowels clean of bad bacteria) is essential...probiotics aid with the good bacteria our guts need.

SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) has been a hot topic in the IBS field for quite some time and makes sense to me.  Too many bacteria, harmful or otherwise, can produce excessive gas and other abdominal discomfort.  Have you tried an over-the-counter gas relief medication?

Unfourtanitly, all foods make me "run" to the potty. The only way for me to run less is by eating very little. For example, I'll eat only one sandwhich today everday. If I eat more than that in a day I'll be running for the next 8 hours.
