Hey y'all!  I went to the nephrologist today.  I was so disappointed!  I am spilling protein majorly again.  It was 4,000mg in a random sample!  My creatinine had crept up a little, it still isn't bad as all considering I was end stage just as recently as March!  Anyway...she wants me to double my cellcept and she added vasotec.  We are hoping and praying it arrest the protein spillage!  Hope you are all well!  God Bless You, Judy

I'm so sorry you didn't get better news at your appointment as you have in the past. I hope with her altering your meds that it can get it back under control.

Sorry to hear your appoitment did go as well as you wold have liked. Since I'm new to this group, have you had a kidney transplant? This is kind of a personal question but when you urinate, is your urine foamy? My urine is very foamy and my doc has told me that it’s from protein.

If your urine is foamy from protein, is that why you are taking those meds? My doctor has never suggested anything to help with the protein leakage.

Hey Judy, I am so sorry you have to go up to 2 grams of cellcept. That is what I am currently on and for me it is a living nightmare. The whole hair loss, tons of nausesness, shaky, and a few more personal things. ugg I really hope you will tolerate it better this time and that this does the job so you can avoid dialysis again.! I will be praying hard for ya and sending you hugs!

Hey KidneyKid, for me, the way know I am usually spilling protein is it gets really foams/bubbly and my urine also starts to turn cokish color. Not a normal looking p at all! How are they gonna treat the protein for you? Is your function staying up? I really hope it is!!!

My doctor never really said anything about doing anything for the protein. Its funny because when I was told that protein can cause foamy urine, I was surprised. I've had foamy urine for so long that I just thought everyone did!

My creatinine is at 7.0.

((((((Amy))))))) The cellcept is rough for me too. I've talked to other people who tolerate so much better! uUUGGG!!!

I have never had a transplant. I do qualify, but unless I go back on dialysis i'm not really wanting to do it. I'm thankful it's an option though. My urine is very foamy and I go to the potty alot during the nite when I have protein. I also swell more, specifically around my ankles and eyes.

My creatinine did go up just a tad from 1.8 to 2.0! Which is still fantastic for me! My creatinine was 8.0 when I started dialysis.

They have been checking my protein when I submit a urine sample. Also, she'll do a 24 hour urine and check the protein.
