A quick little background. I have been diabetic for the past 11 or so years. 5 years ago I was DX'd with CKD at what the doctor termed "the very beginning of stage 1" and was put on Lisinopril.
Now on to the present and what brings me to this forum today.
Last weekend I had a 2 day bought of what I thought was some kind of virus that hit me with flu like symptoms......nausea, vomiting, low grade fever, headache, etc. It came on really fast and after 2 days seemed to leave just as quickly. This was Friday and Saturday and was fine on Sunday.
Now then last Thursday night when I went to bed I felt pretty good but a couple of hours later I woke feeling really sick again with the same symptoms I had a week before. The only difference is this time it has lasted 3 days and once again seemed to leave me just as fast as it hit me.
My wife, who is a nursing student, thinks that maybe this is due to CKD and the possibility seems to be there, but I would like some "expert" opinions on this.
It's been over a year since I had any blood work done in regards to my CKD and I haven't had any urine tests done about it since I was DX'd 5 years ago. I have an appointment with my PCP next month and am planning on pushing for a full workup but I am also wondering if maybe I should try to get in sooner.
