Hi All,
After doing a 24 hour urine catch the doctor wants a kidney
biopsy. Has any one had one. Are they painful? Are there any
complications possible. I'm 31 with a history of high blood
pressure and over weight, since 18. Never had any problems
until a month ago when I went in for routine blood work
and creatine level was 2.6 had another 2weeks later and
it was 3.06 and BUN was 20. Went to kidney doctor and
he changed blood pressure medicine. Did labs again with
24 hour urine catch. Creatine level was back done to 2.6
but now have protein in urine. Now Im being told I should
have had urine catch at least once a year but PC never did.
Don't know how long protein has been in urine. I do know
that a year ago in June my creatine level was 1.8. Can
high blood pressure do this much damage in one year or
could I have been spilling protein long before the creatine
level went up. Do they go hand in hand . There is no
kidney disease in the family so I assume that it has come
from the high blood pressure. I am also prediabetic.
glucose is at the highest 121. Thanks for any info.
Specialist is on vacation the new meds for high blood
pressure isn't working and I'm a nervous reck I also
have anxiety issues and take meds for that.
Shamed to say, falling apart.
