What do the numbers mean?

Diabetic male, age 75......Recent blood test showed creatinine 1.29......GFR 54......BUN 21......BUN-creatinine ratio 16 How bad are these numbers?? Thanks...

Those are good numbers for 75 :)! Is the diabetes well controlled?

Thanks.....my regular physician seemed a little concerned about the creatinine of 1.29 YES, my diabetes is okay I guess....last three A1C's were 5.1, 5.9 and 6.2.

I wouldn't be concerned unless the creatinine keeps rising! How often do you have labs done?

as having lab work done every 6 months....but when the creatinine was found last week at 1.29....will have another lab done this coming Tuesday....and then in 3 months.

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I have been following another forum and have just become aware that my kidney numbers aren't so great. My GFR has been below 60 since at least April of 2011 with creatinine floating between 79 and 94 until recently. Since the middle of October I've had GFR of 52, under 60, and 52. With creatinine levels at 108, 90, and 107.

I have not had a doctor even mention that there was a problem. I'm not sure what to expect or what to do at this point. Am just beginning research.
