Hello everyone,
I drink more fluids than the average person (at least 8 glasses of water everyday), but I keep getting moderately dehydrated (my symptoms: elevated heart rate, dry skin, dark urine color, sleepiness, muscle twitching/cramps/spasms, dry/sticky mouth, sometimes dizziness especially when standing up etc). Water helps improve my symptoms for a few hours, but then if I don't drink a ton of fluids throughout the day I'll get dehydrated again. I often wake up extremely dehydrated in the morning, no matter how much I drink when I go to bed. The only way by which I can prevent this is to wake up in the middle of the night and drink lots of water. Sleeping with the A/C on (even when it's cold out) also seems to help somewhat.
This problem started 2-3 years ago and I don't know how to fix it. I used to drink much less than this and not get dehydrated. I honestly drink as much as I can, but my body doesn't seem to retain the fluids for more than a few hours. Do I have diabetes insipidus or something? Can anyone relate? Do you think a urologist or a nephrologist could help? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
