Hello, I recently went to my doctor and told her that I have been experiencing a blockage when I urinate and sometimes it is hard to start. Also when I'm at work and if I bend over a lot my kidneys while start burning. They gave my a urinalysis at the doctors office and found blood in my urine. They sent it of to get tested and said everything came back normal. Should I make an appointment with a specialist and investigate this further? Thank's

Hi. Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm not on this site as much as I used to be.

I would suggest getting an appointment with a urologist. Blood in the urine can mean a lot of things, most of them pretty simple (urinary tract infection, kidney stone, things like that), but it can also mean a variety of more serious issues as well. Better to let an expert take a look at you.

It turned out I had a small lesion on my right kidney. I was referred to a urologic oncologist and we monitored it for about 2-1/2 years with scans. In April, 2016, a scan determined the lesion had grown, so in June, 2016, I had a robotic assisted partial nephrectomy. about 1 cubic inch was removed. I had the surgery at 3PM and I was released the next day at 1:30PM.

The pathology on the lesion showed it was chromophobe renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that grows very slowly, rarely spreads and rarely comes back.

Sorry for not responding sooner glad you got sorted , my peeing blood was the rivaroxiban of which I changed to edoxiban but that had a similar effect 20+ days later also my gums bled during the night so my blood must of been like water with taking edoxiban, asprin, and clopidogrel I no longer take edoxiban my cardiologist was happy I stopped taking it said it was only to stop clotting after the stent was fitted I'm glad I've stopped taking them , , good luck for the future, take care
