GFR; major drop in 15 months

Dec 2021 GFR reading was 69 ml; this month 52 ml. Passed a kidney stone last October. PCP cannot explain what happened. Stage 3 kidney disease? If this happened in 15 months, could it drop even more in the same time? Is there any treatment? Get CT scan for kidney stones this month. I see urologist in a few weeks; no nephrologist appointments until late May. Very concerned about this.

Yes, thanks for asking. In a subsequent blood test (without fasting and not dehydrated as I believe was the case with the previous test) the GFR was 56, so up 4 points. I went back and looked at a past GFR result and found that in 2018 it was 59. The PCP never mentioned this to me. In 2021 however it was 69. I don't know what to make of this. Doing more tests. Neprhrologist is waiting until all the data has been collected before commenting.

It is true - - egfr does not fix itself. It is what it is.
