Well I guess if its been this quiet it must mean everyone is feeling ok....

So anyways how is everyone doing?  Any updates?????

I was thinking the same thing! I am doing ok :-)! Yesterday I had my first Lupron shot to protect my ovaries before the Cytoxan. I get my first injection August 13th at 9 am. I am so excited! I am ready for my kidney problems and the pain to go away! I think this will do the trick. I don't know exactly why but when I got the Lupron shot yesterday, about 2 hours later, I felt better than I have felt since my diagnosis 2 years ago. It was great :)!I actually felt my age. Anywho...I guess i am rambeling! I hope you all are doing good and look forward to hearing from you!

I have a way of forgetting to talk about how I'm doing on the kidney forum.

I'm still having alot of pain lately.  I think I have an obstruction.  Can't really tell.  I already take pain meds everyday for life but I still don't know when to draw the line and go back to the urolgist.

My son broke his thumb in highschool football practice two days ago.  Hes thinking theres nothing wrong with his hand cuz hes on pain meds so he thinks its a miracle pain all gone..  hmmm i think hes insane..lol   yeah

Hes figured out how to play his xbox live with the cast on.  I made a BIG choice as a mother today.  The doctor gave a me a choice I could let him be sidelined for 6 weeks or cast him every 10 days (new one the old one will stink skull ) and x-rays.  He broke the growth plate bone so we have to watch it.  I agreed to let him get 3 or 4 casts, he can practice but no tackling (contact) for at least the first 10 days.  Then he can tackle as long as he wears an arm padding.

So that has been the most interesting event other than my dad moving back in.... mad    70 years old and acts like hes 16...lol  Not in a good way either.....

Ok I saw that you had cystic ovaries.....  I had the Dx at the age of 14.  Havent heard that Dx since...  Interesting...

If you are talking about cystic ovaries for me, no I don't have them. they are giving me the cytoxan to protect my ovaries from the chemo...I guess there is a great chance that the treatment will make me sterile so they are putting me in medical menopause for around a year in hopes that it will keep me from going sterile.

I wish you luck with your son and dad! Sounds like you have your hands full...I was adopted and now my parents are in there 70's and I couldnt imagine having them move in with me! Phew...I will def be praying :)!!

Technolgy is amazing.  I had chemotherapy when I was 19 - 20 and they didn't do stuff like that.  It was 19 yrs ago.  Dang I'm getting old... shakehead

Cystic ovaries now that I think of it was another poster in another forum I had just read... turn    I'm losing my mind  yeah

Sorry to hear about your son's injury.  It sounds like you will be spending a lot of time at doctor visits. My youngest daughter had a major knee injury in March and had to have surgery. I had no idea that it would be so involved. She just got released from physical therapy about a month ago. Now my oldest daugher is getting ankle surgery on Sept. 1 during her college break. Thank goodness it isn't as serious but she won't be able to drive for quite awhile because it is her right ankle. She is moving home for me to take care of her, that should be a treat.  rolleyes Let's just say she is going through an independent phase right now and she is driving us crazy. She is going to her nephrologist to see if he will release her for the surgery. I am interested to look at her blood work. she has been working 2 jobs and going to school so I know she hasn't been taking care of herself. And with this ankle injury she has been dealing with I bet she has gained 15 lbs. Her doc will definitely give her the business at her appointment.

Hey! Just wanted to chime in...I had Cytoxan without the Lupron and had some test done a year later and then again recently...I am not sterile from it. So, hopefully with the Lupron, you'll do great. I'm pulling for you! Judy

Thank you Judy! Everybit of encourgament helps :)! I am hoping this will work but if it doesnt, I won't be too upset. I have pretty much decided to adopt in the future because I don't want to risk having a kid that could have an AI disease...and I was adopted so it is something that speaks to me a little more!

You didnt mention how you where doing???

I'm doing okay.  I am trying to lose some of the weight i've gained from being on high doses of prednisone for a decade!  It's a battle.  I have actually been able to increase my activity and walk and exercise until today.  For some odd reason I have hit the wall!  I feel so tired and just plain weak.  I had a busy weekend, maybe my body just needs to recuperate!  Thanx for asking.  I really can't complain.  I feel so blessed!  Have a great day.  Judy

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but my computer is broke and our daughter has had here computer only G-- knows where for the past few days.  Don't really know what to think about children anymore; you raise them with all kinds of values and morals and then they just become hmmm their own person...... anyway...she has moved back home for her last semester of college because it's only an hour away and her boyfriend of 4 yrs broke up with her (whom we absolutely love) so she has decided to sow her wild oats for the first time...boy do I ever hope this doesn't last too long!!!!!!

Anyway, other than her drama things are quiet except the stent now hurts continuously.  The spasm meds don't work anymore and I'm just getting used to being in discomfort ALL the time, only 6 more days though and it will be OVER!!!!!!!!

Laurie - I so know what you are going through with your son, our other daughter had to have reconstructive surgery on her foot at 14 yrs old and couldn't even let it touch the ground for 8 wks then was in able to gradually put weight on it over the next 7 wks.  After that she had 4 more foot surgeries and had a stress fracture in every metatarsil. It was a looooooooong high school life and she was a cheerleader so firgure that into the foot mess!

I hope everyone else is having a good summer and enjoying nice weather.  We haven't had too many nice days in NY; it seems to rain just about every day and we haven't had very many days out of the 70's.  It will probably be hotter than hot when school starts again, oh well, that's NY for you.

Judy I have a 20 yr old son who is lost.  I guess alot of boys or girls that age get lost for a few years.  He shows up on occasion then he'll drop in for a period of time.  I'm also hoping I make it through his wild oat moment in time.

My 15 yr old with this broken thumb thinks he can go to football practice but then do no chores..lol  If you can go work out you can pick up your room.  Stubborness is through the roof on this boy.

That stent will hurt until it is taken out. I remember telling you that  turn    I HATE STENTS!!! smhair

Our weather has been really hot around here.  In the 90's everyday, day in and day out shocked    It is driving me nuts.  I work in a warehouse so its about 110 degrees in there everyday.  I will be begging for winter he before to long.
