my dad has stage 3 kidney disease

I just found out my dad has stage 3 kidney disease. I'm seriously worried my dad is my world, the only parent I really have ever had.. I'm reading every bit of information I can find does anyone have any information on ways I can help him with the side effects physically and mentally, life expectancy, treatment options, progression of stages,and exactly what he's about to go threw? PLEASE help I'm so scared and I know he is too but I know it will help if I have someone to talk to that has witnessed this. Thanks
