I have a history of stones, I can always tell weeks/months in advance when one is coming. When the uti feeling comes and I know it's a matter of days/hours, do I really need to see a doctor other than to just get pain meds? In the past, I've rushed myself over to the ER only to end up passing the stone in the waiting room sans pain killers. The next time I passed one, it was relatively mild and I just rode it out at home. I d rather pass it in the comfort of my home over writhing on the floor of the ER waiting room.
I don't have a personal doctor at the moment, but I told the woman I used to see about how I should go about dealing with it all and she basically told me I'm SOL and have to put up with passing it while waiting in the ER room. I'm about to pass another one and I'm not sure what my course of action should be.
