Hi,
I'm just worried that I have developed resistant UTI infection and would like to know if there is any end super antibiotic that will kill this?
It all started back about
the beginning of April. I developed the typical symptoms of a UTI infection like pelvic kind of side pain, burning sensation ,and stinging when I urinate. I went to the doctor and they did a simple urinalysis test and saw the my white blood cell count was high but not super high. I was diagnosed with a simple UTI infection and got some Cipro for it for 10 days, It helped a lot but I still had some of the symptoms still. She prescribed me another course of Cipro and also did a Urine culture which came back negative. The second course seemed to get rid of the infection and I went on with life. I had a really stressful week of exams in the beginning of may 2014 and after that I developed stomach pain which was later diagnosed as acute gastritis. I got some acid reducer tablets which helped and the pain slowly went away. I flew overseas at the beginning of July to see my Dad and a few weeks after that I developed pain in my left back. It was consistent quite strong dull ache that mostly ached more at night and I had night sweats together with what seemed like a mild fever but it wasn't. It went on and I went to the doctor there but they could not find anything from a urinalysis and physical exam. I was also itching a lot and became worried that it might be progressive kidney disease so I went back to the doctor and again they did more blood tests to check for any abnormalities but couldn't find anything. I headed back home at the end of July and I thought I felt somewhat better. When I got off the plane I went to the doctor again she prescribed cipro again. As you might guess it seems to not work anymore now because the bacteria is resistant or highly resistant. I also got really dizzy and my mental concentration has changed and I hope it hans't caused more harm than good. I went back and now she has prescribed amoxicillin 3x a day for 5 days 500mg each.
To note: I'm currently suffering from chronic lyme's disease with co-infections also but I have gotten significantly better from it in the past year and I have never before had any of these symptoms from it. My immune system is currently a bit suppressed so that is another thing that worry's me about
getting something else.
I'm just worried about
this since I'm resistant to a major UTI antibiotic and don't know if I will from amox also, what else can knock this out? I fear for kidney disease etc if I don't get this resolved. I don't want to have to deal with another issue now since i'm heading back to University soon and it's my last year before a full time job as a programmer. Also I hope the dizziness goes away because it's annoying to not being able to concentrate. I'm quite certain I got from the tablet because it just started a few days later after taking cipro. I honestly don't what to do. Should I see a urologist in 5 days if this doesn't go away? or a nephrologist?
I'm a bit anxious and worried at the moment like I said, but I been going through so much with lyme's disease, bartonella, and barbesia and I can't bare to think if this develops into some chronic issue also that I'm going to suffer from.
By the way, I'm a 22 year old male
