Thickened ureter

Hi,
This is my first post on the kidney forum. I usually hang out in the crohn's forum !
I have a question that is driving me crazy. In May I went for an MRI to see what was going on with my crohn's. When the MRI was read it was noticed that my left ureter and renal pelvis were slightly thickened. They were not thickened at my last MRI in 2011. A CT scan confirmed the thickening but it couldn't be determined just what was wrong ( the word malignancy kept being mentioned). Anyways, today I saw a urologist who said the thickening was "subtle" and he wants to do nothing until I have another CT scan in November. I'm a little nervous about waiting so long in case there is a malignancy. I don't have any other symptoms. Should I be this antsy or should I just calm down ? Any advice would be much appreciated.

The only experience I have with this is my mother had something similar. She had colon cancer and it had spread to her ureter. They removed the cancer and she is doing very well.

Not trying to say this is what you have going on, but it's the only time I have heard of it.

Myself I have small ureters and can't pass any stone 4 mm or larger and don't handle stents well at all.
