Question

Hi. I'm new to the board. Real quick about me. I'm a 42 year old female. Found a right renal mass almost 2 years ago. Had to have the right kidney removed due to cancer. My remaining kidney is noted to have multiple cysts, one of which we are now watching at around 4.5 cm. My mom has polycystic kidney disease, and her mom had hydronephrosis. Needless to say, kidneys are not very good within my family.

I started having horrible GERD. Came on out of the blue. I can manage the symptoms with over the counter meds, but I have to take them.

So, my question is, is there any correlation between GERD and kidney function? I will have my yearly scan in November, bloodwork, and follow up with my urologist in December. I'm just wondering if this could all be related to the kidney.
