Protein in Urine, but Doctors just Asked to Drink more Water

my Family physician rejected to refer me to a specialist,

I have urine detected protein for over a year now.

Hello, I don't normally post in this forum but saw your post. How far out of range are your numbers over this period of time & how many times have you had the testing done? Do you have a copy of all of labs? If not I recommend obtaining copies of them. What is your drs explanation for refusing to refer you? If you are having symptoms you can always contact your insurance company & discuss with them about getting a referral. But again, you will need copies of the records when talking to your insurance company. Sorry for so many questions.

Leucocyte esterase 25 High negative
Leucocyte esterase 75 High negative

random Glucose 8.5 3.3-7.8

random Glucose 12.5

Random Glucose 9.8

The doctors said I don't have kidney problems.

Oldbuddy, I see that you have posted quite a bit of info in the diabetes forum & LanieG has given you some great ideas. I would take those ideas into great consideration & move towards finding a primary care dr that can offer consistent care & make referrals to the appropriate specialists. Walk in clinics do not offer the consistent care you need.
