I'm not quite sure how to let you all know this - I'm posting on behalf of Barbara. Barb has been talking to our member and good friend Tash.

Barb hadn't been able to reach Tash in the hospital since Wed pm (New Zealand time, 16 hrs ahead of us) -- finally was able to reach Tash's Auntie just a few minutes ago.

It seems our friend Tash passed away around 5pm Wed NZ (1am Wed, EST) evening, only a couple of hours after Barbara Lee last talked with her.

She was having chest pain and they thought it was part of her pancreatitis -- and she was very upset and scared because she'd been on prednisone 16 yrs and they thought that was causing the pancreatitis and wanted to take her off the prednisone. She passed with a heart attack -- they will be doing an autopsy.

Services are Wed, 26th 11am NZ (Tues, 25th, 7:30pm EST) for Maree Ward (her real name). The family asked that we think of her then. She is survived by her son Hayden, 13 yrs old, her mother, her aunt -- we don't know who else. The aunt will be writing a letter to Barbara later on with more information.

I am so sorry to have to share this news with everyone.

Godspeed, Tash, we will remember you well.

I am stunned and deeply saddened by the passing of our good friend, Maree Ward, aka TASH.  Eternal rest grant unto maree, O Lord.  And let perpetual light shine upon her.  May her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen.

I am speechless and deeply saddened by this news. Dear sweet Tash, God rest your soul you will be missed. My prayers are with you and your family.

Tash my friend,

    Barb called me earlier this evening to give me the devastating news. With a broken heart and tear filled eyes, I'm still in shock and disbelief. May God spread his wings and cover you with his feathers and lift you up in his kingdom of peace, love and eternal happiness.

   For the ones that don't know Tash. She was an awsome lady full of love. She had such a wonderful witty personality. She, Barb, Auntkay and I spent many, many late nights in chat laughing and having fun.

  Tash, you will be deeply missed and never forgotten, my friend.

My Dear Friend Tash:

I'm so saddened to hear of your passing. I know that you are no longer in pain and you are at rest and peace. May the Lord be with you and keep you forever here on. I love you my friend and you'll be greatly missed.

For those of you who know Tash I spoke with her 1 hr prior to her passing away. I told her how much she was loved by us. Tash knew something was wrong and she was frantic, I wish I could have done something to help her. She's now at peace and no longer has to suffer with her lupus. Please keep her family in your prayers, her son, mother, and her brothers are all surviving her. Tash's Auntie asked that we think of her on the 26th of February as she's buried.

Tash, I'll miss you and think of you often my friend.

I've looked, it appears that the lupus groups in New Zealand don't really accept donations -

The local paper (Tauranga, NZ) doesn't seem to have an on-line obituary section, either.

Amen to dave Z's prayer. Our love and thoughts are with Tash's family. Barb, you did you something to help her...you were always there for her and she knew she could not only count on your love but that of many forum members. Being present to listen to someone is giving the greatest gift we have...our time. Praying she is at peace.

I am sorry, my friends, for this sudden loss of another friend. I didn't know Tash well but it speaks volumes to me how much support she had on this board, and thus how much support she gave to others. It is wounding to hear this news.

I can't beleive your gone I still think i'm in some sort of shock.  Can't imagine turning on yahoo and not having a message from you.  You meant the world  to me and u knew that.  I've never in my whole life had the honor of knowing such a wonderful person.  I am completely lost without you I can't stop crying.  You got me through so much in my life and when I was down you always made me laugh in one way or another.  You were the best mother I ever knew and Hayden is going to be lost without you but in another way he is very lucky to have had the blessing to have a mother like you.  And I know he knows that.  He will turn out to be a remarkable man because of what you've taught him I guarantee that.  You always told me that when you died you would be just a spirit floating around well I hope you float by me once in a while just to say hey.  I used to be so scared of dying but I think now with you gone there will be one positive thing for me for when I die,  I will finally get to meet you in person or spirit or whatever or wherever you are now.  You were not only in a way a sister, friend to me but you gave me that motherly love that I really never had and I loved you so much for that.  I didnt get to say goodbye to you so I wanted to right this letter to you to do so, because lord knows if there is internet in heaven you are signing on right now lol.  The only thing that is going to get me through this is knowing how you would want me to handle it, you would say well you know life sucks and you just gotta keep on going for the ones that love you.  I was in a really bad place when i met you and you made me a more positive person and made me appreciate things more no one else has ever done that for me.  I may never be able to chat or call you again but I will always pray to you.  I will always remember the good times we had either playing cards chatting about guys talking about life and making fun of each others accents on the phone lol. Maree I love you from the bottom of my heart and I will miss you so much.  And I will definately see you one day again.

p.s. I want to thank barb and Kay for being there for me to talk to me when I found this news out that really means alot to me and I will never forget it and if you guys ever need to talk don't hesistate to call me ok?  I send my love to all of marees family I can't imagine how hard this is on them losing such a wonderful soul May got help them heal through this awful time.

I am just in shock and am so very sad about Maree's passing. I just don't know what to say. I am so sorry that Maree had to suffer so much and that such a wonderful person had to die way too soon. My prayers are with Maree, her son and the rest of her family. This must be so hard on them.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, but am glad to know that you all have each other in this tight knit community for support.

I didn't know Maree but, after reading these posts, I'm sitting here crying also.  She really was a very special person...I can tell and I know you will all miss her deeply.  Even living with such an illness, she was a giver, not a taker.  She gave of herself and blessed each of you with her help and wit.  But, she is blessed now.  She is free from disease and totally healthy and happy.  And, Kacey, you are right!  You will see her again.  Please accept my condolences on the lupus forum.

This is such a terrible loss.  Rest peacefully Tash knowing that you are loved by many and that your son will grow to be a caring, attentive man because of the loving guidance you gave him. God bless you and you family.  Love, Butterflake aka Donna

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Tash. I didnt know her personally but can feel all the love

I just recently returned to the forum after a very long absence and did not know Tash, but I feel like I did for she is one of us. I lit a candle for her this morning. I am so sorry for her passing, for her son, her family, friends, and everyone else in the world who benefitted from her wisdom and compassion and I know she will be tremendously missed. We are all holding her in our hearts and thoughts and she will live on there, making all the lives she touched richer. I will look back at her posts on the forum. Love, Harmony

Lynnwood, thank you for posting about Tash, I know it must have been one of the saddest things you have had to do in this group.
I'm not good at good-byes. I beleive that there is somthing wonderful on the other side of this place we live in. I know that is where Tash is at. She's not in any more pain. The people that are hurting are the ones she left behind. She was truly loved by many people and will be greatly missed.
Tash I look forward to the day when we can meet again, next time in person. I look forward to hearing all about New Zealand. My prayers will be with your family and friends that are grieving.

I think I only spoke to Tash once or twice but as we can see she will be truly missed. my prayers will be with her family as we know she is with God.

I'm not sure if I've talked to her before or not Fogs in town but from what I can tell and feel on here afer reading all the post she was a wonderful lady and friend.

May the good lord watch over her family and friends and fingertip family as we mourn yet another sad loss.

I didnt know Tash, but I wanted to express my sympathy to the family and to the members that she befriended here on HW. It is so sad when someone dies who is a friend to so many.

My heart goes out to all of you....I dont know what to say..I'm so sorry for your loss and everyone else who knew Tash. Reading these post's brought tears to my eyes..I can see she was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

I haven't been on much, just read about Tash. I did not know her she must have been a wonderfull person my prayers go out to her family and friends. God Bless
