  My legs itch like CRAZY....I moisturize every am after my shower.  This has been going on for awhile now. This is driving me nuts...there doesn't even seem to be a rash there, but if I starting itching....it itches even more. Once I do start scratching, little bumps appear.  It is only on my legs, so it can't be an allergy type thing. I get bruised sometimes from scratching...this is driving me nuts.  I am taking Plaquenil, Levbid (for IBS), and Lexapro, none of which are new. Any suggestions????  Thanks, and have a HAPPY-SAFE 4th of JULY!!!!!!

Have you tried using fragrance free soap? I know this sounds crazy because its just your legs itching but it was only my arms and fragrance free dove soap and free fabric softeners made a big difference.

If it hasn't been done recently make sure you have your liver function tested. After that use something like Eucerine calming cream or something else specifically for itching. On occasion I have taken a bit of hydrocortisone cream and mixed it with lotion then applied.

I get horrible itching which results in huge hives, I've gor one now that covers my entire forearm. Topical cortizone doesn't do a thing for me, but the max dose of Benedryl seems to help, only thing is that it will make you sleepy and if you take it at night, it's really hard to get up in the morning. The best thing for me is a nice big dose of Pred, but Rheumy won't let me take anymore until we re-assess on Wed. Good luck to you, there's tons of anti itch creams, maybe they'll work for you. If anyone has psorisis, I've heard that Beaudruex's Butt paste is great. I use it for my babies and they've never had diaper rash. I love it!!!!

I have chronic hives and the one thing that helps me is to sit in a cool bath with Aveeno.  It is an oatmeal bath that calms the itch.  It doesn't last long when I get out, but does give me some relief.  I take a magazine and stay in as long as I can.  I believe Aveeno also has a lotion for itching skin that I haven't tried yet.

Thanks for the suggestions, I bought the Dove soap and the calming moisturizer and it seems to be working...the calming moisturizer feels REALLY good!    THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO  MUCH for your responses!   Debbie

Hi Deb, I have itchy skin too, mostly on my hands and arms. I mentioned it to my rheumy recently she said a lot of her lupus patients complain of itchy skin. I use Dove bodywash and lotion and I still itch around mid day. I hope the Dove continues to help!

Hi Stacie, I use the fragrance free dove and tide free for washing anything that touches my body ever DHS shampoo and cream rinse for my hair. It all helps but its no cure all. Hope if you try this it helps it has me. Linda
