Saying goodbye for awhile...

Hi Everyone,

    I just wanted to let you all know I won't be around for awhile and I didn't want anyone to worry. I will have my internet turned off on monday.

    I lost my part-time job due to cut backs in the office so I need to get rid of some things I can do without. I've been looking for something else but, this is a small town and very few jobs. I would have to drive 20 to 30 miles to work somewhere else and with gas prices thats just out of the question.

    I want you all to know how much I appreciate your support, kindness and friendship. I will miss you all so very much!!! Please take care my friends and always know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

   Thank you so much for the prayers. Yes times are though for alot of people right now. I hope the economy will turn in the right direction soon.

   I didn't even think about going to the library. I can do that occasionally. You take care as well and you are in my thoughts and prayers too.

So sorry to hear that -- I'd almost rather loose my left toe than my internet service! For me, I cut cell phone & TV first, and started hitting the library instead of the book stores...but am still looking for things to cut out. I hope things look up soon and they need you back or you can start generating a little income some other way. We will miss you terribly! Hugs,

I'm going to put my email address in my profile for a couple of days. If you'd like to correspond via snail mail for a while, send me your mailing address. I'll do my best to get messages to and from the forum for you. Lots of folks aren't comfortable giving out their mailing address, but I do hope you'll correspond with someone so we won't worry about you and so we can at least stay in touch with you.

Uh oh . . . . Sorry sis . . . you sound like me . . . no cable, no cell phone . . . basic internet . . . But . . . I would REALLY miss the internet!! I used to pop in the library and get online there. I hope you have a connection somewhere nearby you can use sometimes. I was thinking of you today and how we both joined HW at around the same time. Remembered how we would both be wide awake at 3:00 am and chat in the chat room . . . LOL I hope you find a great position soon!!! Blessings!

I am sorry you lost your position. I hope you find a new position soon.

BAbs, even though you live in a small town (as I do) ask about a local "freenet" that provides free internet service through the library system. Though it may not be as fast as your old hookup, it may allow you to get on once in a while. Sometimes in small towns the dialup isn't so bad because there isn't many people. I hope you have a library there. Ours has nice computers, videos and all.

Will miss your always compassionate and kind replies. I hope you come back soon!

   Oh wow! I'm speechless from all the loving caring support and kind words of encouragment from all of you! You all are so awesome!

   There is a nice library here where I can go every once in awhile to check in. I don't plan on staying away any longer than I have too. I already had my home phone line turned off so dial-up service is out.

   I did apply for a job online last night for the government and they are suppose to contact me by email within a few days so I will be online for a few more days anyway. I don't expect to get the job, but there's always hope... .

   I will keep working on finding another job and getting back to HW and my friends here as soon as possible. I will miss you all dearly! Thank you all again for everything! You are all in my thoughts and prayers always!

Im sorry to hear about you having the Internet turned off. I think the ideas others have written about using the Internet at the library are good. I know it won't be the same, but I hope you check in when you can. Do you have a nearby family member who might let you log in to their computer occasionally? I hope you keep us updated.
