Hello,

I have a question about my results.

UNDER AUTO DIFF:

GRAN%  H 83-33.0-69.0

LYM%    L 13-20.0-55.0

I've noticed since my Dr. took me off of Methotrexate I can not stop eating.Was wondering if that has happened to anyone else or is it because of my results?Also I've had ALOT of tingling all over.Do you think its all relate some how?

Hi Mary, I've never been on methotrexate but I still get a lot of tingling. I can't put my arm down by my side for even a minute without the tips starting to tingle. I'm not sure about the eating. I suppose taking a drug could make you not be hungry and being taken off of it could set you into a eating frenzy. Sort of like steroids. I really don't have any info to offer just an ear to listen and to tell you I know your frustrated. Sometimes it seems like if it's not one thing it's another. I hope someone here can help you out.

Hi Mary,

I know Methotrexate supressed my appetite, obviously yours as well. While your doctor has taken you off of this medicine are you taking any steriods, i.e. prednisone? If so, that would explain the increase in appetite.

Yes I am on 7mgs. prednisone for 6years.Even at that dose?Do you know anything about the blood test?I hear you if its not one thing it is another.They took me off Methotrexate because it elevated my liver test who knows whats going to happen now.It just drives me crazy when the blood test come back and they aren't normal.

These % only say your at 83% whch should be between 33 and 69.

and the other is low at L13 which should be between 20 and 55.

Do you have an appt with your dr to discuss these? You might try calling the nurse or the lab where it was done just to ask them what it means.

Hi Mary! I am not sure about your test results but I have been on methotrexate and prednisone. The methotrexate seemed to suppress my appetite as well as make me sick to my stomach. My rheumy then put me on injections to help with the nausea and to help the mtx enter my bloodstream faster. I have been on prednisone for almost 4 years total with a short 6 month period of being off it altogether. My dosage of pred ranges from 4mg to 10 mg depending on my joint pain and inflammation. I have found that any dose of pred makes me VERY hungry - especially for sweet foods. Currently I am down to 4 mg and my rhuemy has me tapering off the prednisone completely.

I stopped taking mtx about nine months ago since it seemed to stop working for me even though we kept increasing the dosage. My rhuemy switched me to Arava and this has helped me increase my stamina for the day. I don't remember a noticeable increase in my appetite when I stopped the mtx. I wonder if the mtx was upsetting your stomach and now that you have stopped taking it you feel like eating more?

I picked up my results yesterday so I'm sure I'll get a call from my Rheumy tomorrow with the hoildays.If I keep eating I'm going to burst my stomach is so bloatted it starts as high as under my ribs looks like I'm 7 months.I'm also wondering if I have some kind of Gartric problem because this has been going on for sometime now.

Other symptoms I've noticed since being off the Methotrexate are tingling,numbness,arms feel tired and heavy,cold,acid reflux oh I could go on,on so I guess my whole body feels different.I was on Meth. for I think at least 3years if not 4.

I tried decreasing down on the prednisone to 3mgs. once but I had more complications so 7 is as low as I can go with prednisone.
Looking up the test results the only thing I can figure out is some type of virus.But if anyone can figure out anything please let me know.
