SSI review

I got a letter today that they are reviewing my SSI. I was hoping someone with more experience could help me understand how likely they are to pull it away after how hard and long a fight I had to get it in the first place. In some ways I am better and in some ways I am worse. In others I remain the same.

I have 1 doctor who they will need to be in contact with who treats all my conditions. She can honestly say that despite adding provigil my fatigue level still requires me to sleep at least 12 hours plus 1 nap during the day. I probably sleep 14 or 15 hours every day. Activity really wears me out. I can do small stuff for an hour or so but then I have to rest- translation lay down. I see her the 19th. I hope they will take her word for it and not ask me to see their idiot doctor again.

I had a lawyer but I really would prefer not to deal with them again. I do have a letter my doctor sent to my school telling them I had to drop classes last semester due to neurological issues. Wonder if that would help?

The Canadian system is probably different, but when I had to apply for disability, I had to appeal twice before they accepted my application.  It was brutal.  What I learned was to never, ever tell them I was better (in any way, shape or form!) I had to make my case as pathetic as possible (which wasn't hard.  I was a wreck). 

 

I agree with Tink.  Anything you have that will make your case, send it to them. I think that letter you mentioned would be ideal.
