Hi there,

Anyone find it difficult to fall asleep eventhough you are dead tired without the ambien? I actually need the ambien more than my useless unsupportive man friend ( he doesn't even get to be called my boyfriend anymore). He doesn't understand the pan tat just strikes me and stays for days. He just goes off and does his own thing and sends me text msgs asking me if there is anything he can do. What am I suppose to ssay other than no and just leave me alone. I feel like  I am living my worst fear; being sick and alone.... cry

Ambien is a favorite subject with me since i think I am addicted. I have been taking them for over a year. I take about 3/4 of a tab. I never have trouble falling asleep, I have trouble staying asleep.

I am so sorry you are alone and sick. I am at a loss of what to tell you. Would you have LESS stressed if he wasn't around? Would be be financailly secure without him?

I have to remind myself that I DO love my Xhusband/ boyfriend and I want/ need him around becasue I know he will take care of me, but darn he irritates the heck of me and I ask myself DAILY would I be happier and less stressed if he wasn;t here?? I am unsure. I did one of those crazy tests that tells you who you are bext suited with. One of the questions were. _ "how often do you wish your significant other had their own place". My answer was OFTEN. Think about it! It the perfect senerio. You have an exclusive relationship with teh person you love IN SEPERATE HOMES! Big Sigh!!

We do have seperate places. We speak everyday but I only see him a couple times a week due to our busy schedules. although I don't feel well, I keep a very active and public schedule to maintain myself and promote mu business. it just is getting increasing difficult to keep these long hours because I get so tired during the say and can't sleep at night.

Aren't the ambien hallucinations, great though? wink

You're PLAYING with me. Trying to make me jealous because you have seperate homes. Well... its working!

I have not had Hallucinations. Are they fun? I HAVE had sleep eating, but I don't need ambien to do that! hahaha!

I've seen little rabbits hopping across my living room, my bed has levitated and I have had conversations that I don't even remember. A couple of sleep wealking episodes as well, but nothing that I am too alarmed about. Apparently, I am a hoot after I have taken my medication... turn

I am taking the Ambien CR. That was after trying 3 or 4 other sleep meds (necessary before the insurance would cover the CR). Yes, I have had conversations that I cannot remember, but that also happens when the brain fog is bad, so everyone is used to it. The CR is the only medication that both gets me to sleep and KEEPS me asleep. Sometimes it irritates me that I have to take medication to sleep, but it helps so, whatever...

Oh yes....the lovly Ambien! I am in love with it. No matter how dog gone tired I am I can never fall asleep even with a muscle relaxer so I get to combine flexeril with Ambien and it does the trick just great! I too have had conversations in my sleep that I had no idea I had had and I too am also a hoot if I don't go straight to bed after I take the Ambien! It is so great :-)

Actually I did have a very bad experience that scared the hell out of me. First, let me say, I have a license to carry. Apparently, my son called ( a college student) and I answered the phone. he told he was here and to open the door. I do not remember anything about that. My first clear thought was my dog starts barking, going crazy. I get up, I'm alone and grab the gun and go to investigate. Some one is trying to open the garage door. I hit the panic button on the house alarm and the alarm company call, I tell them to call the police, someone is trying to get in the house. I am freaking. the cells phone rings and its my son asking why I am not answering teh door. I could have shot him, but training is never to shoot until you can see what you are shooting. . What so weird about thsi story is everything is/ was so clear exept the part about him calling the first time.

Flexiril and Ambien are a great combo together, that is if you don't get out of bed once they kick in. However, my favorite duo is something I only get in the hospital and that is the valium demorol cocktail. I just love that one!

I am sounding like a drug addict aren't I?

The dr gave me vicoden today, have you had that with ambien or do you think that would be too much?

High doses of prednisone game me insomnia to the point that some nights I didn't sleep at all, so I took lunesta for a year or so. As I finally tapered down to a low dose of prednisone I slowly weaned myself off lunesta. It was hard to do, but well worth it. These days I'll do anything to drop another med.

I have not had vicoden before...so I have no idea! If you go www.drugdigest.org you can check the drug interactions! That would be the first place I would look. I think that is the correct link. I will double check when I get home and if it isnt get the right link to you!

Another really good site for checking drug interactions is in the link in my signature! I use it often. PS. Didn't your doctor know about the Ambien? I hope he considered the mixing results -- or maybe he meant instead of? I've admit I take Vicodin occasionally and don't get sleepy from it (but I may be an unusual case, sleeping pills generally keep me awake rather than asleep!)

the doctor knows about it all. I get my drugs filled at the same pharmacy so they should be able to tell me if there are any interactions. Ambien is the only sleeping pill that actually makes me sleep. Lunesta didnt really work for me. I would wake up constantly and the back of my throat would burn.

I also tried Lunesta and it gave me a weird metalic taste. I was up all night eating mints, drinking water and brushing my teeth.

Yeah, Lunesta didnt do anything for me. It also gave me that weird metalic taste that Iron Pills can give you. The drug interation website I was talking about earlier is http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.php. I guess you can take your pick on wich one you like the best...LOL!

I stopped using ambien because of hallucinations. I was seeing things that weren't there, I tried to eat food out of the trash and I attempted to drive a care while being totally unaware of what I was doing. My daughter who was 14 at the time was terrified and my hubby insisted I stop the ambien.

I've managed to sleep fine with out it now. I take 50mg of Elavil at night and it seems to help. So please be really careful with this medication.

I'm very sorry that your man friend isn't more supportive to you. I understand that fear of being sick and alone. I've got several issues going on and my fear is that I'm gonna die alone w/o my hubby or daughter by my side. I'll keep you in my prayers and hope that your relationship improves and your fears are lessened. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Hang in there I know it's tough but we're all here for you.

I know your post was not meant to be funny but I laughed my head off picturing you going through the garbage for food.

Maybe I am doing weird things and just don't know about it. I did gain some weight, but my boyfreind/ x husband swore I was NOT sleep eating more than like a weigh***chers fudge bar or a bowl of cereal.  ( unless it was a Jethro Bodeen bowl.)

ok, so i tried to ice a chocolate cake the other nght after taking ambien and that was clearly the ugliest cake I have ever seen. Apparently I didnt like the shape or size because I hacked it up pretty bad and then attempted to use the icing as cake glue to put it back together. truly ugly and hysterical!
