Hi everyone,

 

I'll be taking a small break from the forum. I'm having some devestating issues with a beloved pet.....My cat Willow has spent the last 5 days in the hospital.  She went into diabetic shock.  I brough her home yesterday, and this morning she's in really rough shape.  Not sure how long she has.... The stress of all this is making me concerned that my Lupus will flare up. 

 

I hope everyone is doing okay.  I'll touch base in a bit.

Hey Ginny,
I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I don't know about you, but my animals are such a great source of comfort when I'm ill and so I know how concerned you must be for Willow. I hope your vet can bring her through this and I will be praying that this doesn't affect your own health. Keep us posted.

Oh Ginny,

Honey, I'm so sorry to hear Willow is not doing any better. I know she is like a child to you and I can totally relate as I have a little yorkie that is the center of my universe right now. Please know that I am thinking of you and praying that Willow will have a miracle recovery! Take care!

Dear Ginny:

It's so painful when our cats are seriously ill. I do hope that Willow will recover and resume her place as companion and footwarmer. <:

Is she eating? Even just a little? Try a bit of Whiskas milk, either warmed or cool. If she loves cannned food, try warming it a little to enhance the scent. Perhaps scramble a raw egg with a bit of cream or milk. Just being home with you will help, definitely. My Siamese mix refused to eat anything when she was hospitalized. When I brought her home, she looked like she had been dipped in oil. The vet thought she would die. However, by hand-feeding her in very small bits, as often as I could, she eventually recovered her strength and appetite. Willow has a different condition, but perhaps the scenario will be the same. Do take care. I feel for you. I have been there... several times.

Hi Ginny,I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. cry I had to give my beloved dog away two weeks ago, because of having to move in with my daughter. My heart broke and the flair got worse. The love we have for our animals is incredible, and so the loss is huge. God keep you in His loving care, Tammy

Hi everybody,

 

We had to put Willow down this morning. It's been a traumatic and very sad day. I had a bond with her like no other animal I've known. There's a large void in the house tonight.  Feels eerily strange, like I'm in a really bad dream and it won't end.  I know she's at peace now and that's the most important thing.  Gosh, I'm going to miss her so much.

 

It's been a very long day, and I'm worn right out.  I hope you all have a good weekend, and I'll catch up next week.

 

Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers.  They mean so much.  You're all such great friends wink ,

I am so sorry that Willow isn't with you anymore. There are special animals we encounter that connect in that special way and take such huge bits of our hearts with them. I know how awful a decision like that is, and I hope you are at peace with it soon.

Ginny,

I'm new here. Your signature sounds a lot like my daughter, except for age. She was in the hospital ER yesterday receiving morphine injections for "migrain". Her chest pain was unbearable but the doc says that this time it is not pericarditis. I myself have fibromyalgia and chronic fatique syndrome., but my concern is mainly with my daughter. She is really unable to do anything at times. We are appreciative of any info that we can get.

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. We lost our main coon cat to thyroid disease. He was a member of the family.


Diagnosed with Lupus in 2000. Fibromyalgia, Raynaud's, Pericarditis, arthritis ,and migraines.

Anyone,

Let me correct something from my earlier post. My daughter says that although her ANA was positive, the MD says that she does not have lupus. Her positive ANA was due to her autoimmune disorder. she has Hashimoto's, fibromyalgia, has had pericarditis, and she has this weird thing with her eyes being blurry and severe pain in her eyes. The MD says that this is Intraocular iritis also related to her auto immune disorder. She also has arthritis. As you can tell from my post, I am worried about her and would appreciate any and all input. The doctor's are not as concerned with her as I am.

I also have a My Space page set up if anyone wants to assist me with it. I am computer illiterate. It is "unseenwind". That is about all that I know about my page.

We pray for my daughter daily and also would appreciate anyone who would join me in that effort.

Ginny, I sincerely hope you find the strenght for anything you have to deal with. I am so sad for you. You take care of yourself and check in whenever you can.

This was a difficult weekend for sure. My all day routine with her is obviously shot.  It feels so strange to not have to look after her, or to not see her sitting in the doorway of my office with that, "Okay mom. Time to stop working. I want some mommy time."  SIGH. 

 

So far the only thing flaring is my Fibro. I want to punch it in the head. I did go for a 90 minute walk yesterday with my hubby.  It was fantastic.  We can walk to the shopping area of our community in about 10 minutes. It felt great.  I'm going to go out again this afternoon. Feels good to clear the head with fresh air.

 

Anyone ever want to just pack up a suitcase and run away to some quiet island and try to escape from all this? "All this" meaning our Lupus, Fibro, and other health issues. I feel like that a lot.  It's a strange feeling to have.

Dear Ginny:

I am so, so very sorry for your loss. I know the pain and emptiness of it. When I lost Mitzi Cricket to liver cancer, I could not bear to even think of another cat for a solid year. When I lost Angelica, however, completely unexpectedly, I couldn't bear it at all and spent two weeks looking until a small and vocal tuxedo female crawled up my front and wrapped herself around my neck, soothing my pain. Not a replacement, of course, but she was the comfort that I needed, and soon brought joy back into my life.....

Take good care of yourself, and if or when the time is right, you will know. I hope that by tonight your symptoms will start to recede. I am so glad that your husband is there for you.
