Is the state wrongfually refusing me health care?

My name is AuBree. I am 17 years old and i have systemic lupus. I have pretty much all the symptoms including the malar rash(butterfly rash). some symptoms come and go but im always fatigued and i always have the rash. Now i have DSHS health insurance. i went in and had mmy blood drawn to confirm the systemic lupus. they said it would take 2 weeks for the test results to come in. 4 days later we got a letter saying all tests were negative for lupus. it takes the tets 14 days. fishy much? the reason why im writing this is because we know i have and we are goingto fight this but i need help of other lupus patients to helpme fight it and get the state to pay for all the damages.

please try and help!!

If you truly have most of the symptoms as listed by the Lupus Org at: Diagnosis 4 of 11 then I would think that you would easily be granted disability benefits. For the more ambiguous cases, it's often required that we have a doctor or several (at least one rheumotologist) certifying our symptoms and treatment before disability is granted. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the state laws, and I understand that even the states that have this have different rules from each other. I hope this works out for you soon,

Welcome to the forum Bree, Most of us had a very long wait for diagnosis. Your dx may be swift if you have more obvious symptoms. Lynwood gave you a good link to check out. . . and there are some good tips from members (for dealing with the symptoms) in the "Lupus Resources" topic. There is a link for that at the end of my signature. We are here to support each other by posting positive ways to deal with our disease and our doctors. But we don't gather and fight with the state. I hope you find lots of good info here. Blessings!
