During a routine physical last January, I mentioned pain as you described. It was determined from bloodwork that my pancreas enzyme levels were elevated. After an ultrasound and a scope, the docs found quite a bit of inflamation - no known cause. Because I have lupus, they started a pred burst, and that seemed to calm things back down. I guess that lupus will occaisionally attack the pancreas.

My mom has colitis and autoimmune problems and has a tumor on her pancreas that is inoperable but seems to be benign, though she gets bouts of pancreatitis. I have to take pancreatic enzymes to properly digest food, my rheumatologist put me on them. He said the problem is common with lupus and systemic autoimmune conditions, they often attack the pancreas.

Please keep the gerd under control as my grandmother died from it. the lining of the esophagus becomes thin and then the varices rupture and you can quickly drown in your own blood. My gi put me on prilosec for life to try to prevent the same fate.

You might have them do an ultrasound of your liver. Liver problems, like fatty liver, are much worse for the patient thanthe doctors realize and cause a lot of other problems. The ribs catching sounds like this. Fatty liver is related to diabetes. Your nausea and rashes may be due to a reaction to meds due to fat inthe liver, as can dizziness vision problems and twitching. High eosinophils can be a sign of allergic reaction.

hairloss can be caused by high/low FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) which can be a sign of endocrine problems and is worth getting tested. The other symptoms you describe remind me of thyroid/pituitary problems. Neurological problems are common with endocrine problems. Get your lab values and check them against the true recent changed values available on the internet. Ithink they lowered the TSH to 3 but not sure if they raised it again. I have irreversible brain damage and neurological damage from untreated thyroid problems. I was euthyroid (had normal or only mildly high TSH) because I also have pituitary problems. You need a good endo that treats symptoms. Sometimes an OB/gyn who specializes in bioidentical hormones will be willing to run more endo tests and do a great job in treating mild problems causing major problems. Mine is better than my endo by far. Make sure they test your TPOs (antithyriod antibodies or antmicrosomal antibodies). Mine were so high they were causing consciousness problems. My neurological problems got much better when I went on thyroid medicine.

If you are not on medicine (Metformin for example) for your blood sugar, youneed to investigate getting treated. Thyroid problems often trigger neurological problems and diabetes, which triggers fatty liver, which causes lots of gi problems

So yeah, you're right, it may all be related. Diabetes is a lousy disease and I gained a new respect for my grandparentswho had it once I got it. I hope you get some good answers and don't give up until you do.
