Just recieved my letter of denial

I've waited for months to be denied. My dirty wrotten pcp never even sent my records in after I made 2 trips to see him last wk & he assured me he would get them into them. I guess I'll call an attorney now. They did not even want my new rhuemy's labs so I feel like they are trying to discourage me.

I'm so sorry. I don't have any experience with this but know it must be incredibly frustrating. It's a part of our system that should be overhauled. Hang in there and don't give up.

Assuming you are talking about US SSD, it's very usual for the first attempt to be denied. The good part about an attorney is that they seem to get better responses from the doctors than we do as individuals, and they know how much addition evidence needs to be sent to SS all along the way.

It can be a long wait - I live in GA which has the longest time frame in the nation! But it did finally go thru. I have also heard of others who were approved & started getting $$ in just a few months.

I did expect to get turned down the first time but I am furious with my pcp. I went to see him twice last wk & was assured they would get my papers in. I thought I had a good chance at it because even the disability doc was on my side. Oh well, I've made appt with attorney. They are booked until Oct 1rst. Guess I'll have to wait my turn. What upsets me is I will lose my public aid card now until they approve me. I only had it for wk & half. The good thing is they will pay for those 20 tubes of blood! We really do need some kind of health care reform.

The SS process is long enough that even if he'd put paperwork in last week it probably would not have caught up with your file in time to affect the decision. Sad but true.
