i'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself for now. My name is Tonya and i'm 33 and was just diagnosed with lupus nephritis in april. Unfortunatly i had it for a long time with no symptoms and now my kidney's only function about 7% on their own so i am now on peritonial(sp) dialysis and hoping to get on the transplant list soon. is there anyone here who is on dialysis also? if so how is it working for you? i have many question that maybe some of you can answer but i will save them for another time.

Hi Tonya,I'm Diane(raven1954),another newbie. You found a great place in this forum. I found it by accident, God's hand was guiding that day,and He doesn't make mistakes. I have spent 25 plus years just figuring I could handle it all myself,that was just vanity and pride. Don't have answers to your questions,but you will find them here. Welcome. Hi... My name is Lori.. I read your post.. My mother had lupus her whole life since she was in her early 20's..My mother passed away this past feb... not from lupus.. medical malpractice.. but her last stay she got diagnosed with kidney failure.. I've worked in the hospital for about 4 years now.. I'm not a doctor. I just understand both aspects of it. Just wanted to let you know that if you need to talk to someone I'm here.. Love always Lori

Hello just my lot in life, welcome to a fine a group of people as you could ever ask to meet.  I am sorry to hear about your kidneys, I have lost one kidney to lupus and the other is still working.  As I am 72 I have not been offered dyalysis.  I pray that a donor kidney is made available to you soon.  Know that most of the people who read your post have you in their thoughts.  Many blessings and prayers for you.  Harriett
