Ok so recently I realized I am flaring every month and I used to feel a lil better the week of my periods. Now, even at the moment, I am in a flare. I have 4 mouth ulcers even after using a steroid rinse and the burning/numbness/ache I get in my legs has now spread to my arms from my wrists up into the base of my neck. I wanna know why this is as I am kind of in shock about it and haven't had new symptoms before since it started a year ago. :/ Can anyone relate?? Thanks -Brittanee

Mommyof121 I can relate. I have been in a flare for the last month with no relief. I have never had one last this long and it is indeed frustrating. I go to the Rheumy today and I hope he has some answers for me,I have also been keeping track of how I feel everyday and writing down what I am eating just to see if maybe there is something I am doing that is keeping me in this flare. The weather in Oklahoma has not been cooperating with me either. I hope you get to feeling better soon but if it continues on for more than a week don't hesitate to call the doc then if not before. I waited way to long.

Hi Brittanee,

I am sorry you are flaring, I am too cry and it sucks! This is the 2nd worse flare I've had, I've had little ones here and there but this one is BIG. I have been out of work since last Thursday and not feeling any better!

You may want to talk to your rheumy, your lupus may not be under control with your current meds. My rheumy added folic acid for my mouth sores, I take 3- 1mg tabs a day and it works well at keeping them away.

Thank you for the replies :) I was thinking along the same lines jhmom, because my flares or my symptoms have never gone away but were lessened at some points. I have been on the plaquenil 4 months now and I really dont think another 2 months is going to make a difference. I feel awful today. Alot of head pressure which Im wondering can it be connected to the neuropathy? It makes me feel really out of it and makes brain fog worse and almost like im floating/drifting or something and i hear this pulsatile heartbeat in my ears. Im not sure if its vertigo or not. Ehh well I hope you get feeling better Jenks! Take care. -Lupie Britt

I agree with Stacie. It doesn't sound like your curent meds are enough to keep your disease under control. Be very up front with your doc about how sick you feel. Hang in there.
